In the spring of 2012, the life of 27-year-old Hunter Daniel Grissom, a male resident of Northport, Alabama, was cut short in a violent encounter with his ex-wife. On the morning of May 15, Grissom was at the Binion Creek boat landing when Tracey Grissom, then 32, arrived at the scene. The events that unfolded would be a matter of intense legal debate, culminating in a murder trial that drew national attention. Tracey Grissom shot her ex-husband multiple times, and he died at the scene.
