In the early morning hours of December 6, 2019, a domestic dispute in Northport, Alabama, tragically ended the life of 26-year-old Michael Archibald. The incident occurred at the West Circle Housing Project, where Archibald was fatally shot.
Responding to the scene, law enforcement officers discovered that Archibald had been involved in an altercation with his sister, 30-year-old Michelle Renee Scroggins. During the dispute, Scroggins allegedly shot and killed her brother.
Archibald's wife was also present at the time of the shooting but was not physically harmed.
Following an investigation into the fatal shooting, Michelle Renee Scroggins was arrested. She was subsequently charged with murder in connection with her brother's death. Additionally, Scroggins faced a charge of attempted murder. She was held on a combined bond of $210,000 for the two charges.
