On June 15, 2024, 34-year-old Daniel Long was fatally shot in the chest at a residence on Oneonta Cut-off Road in Albertville, Alabama. Responding officers from the Albertville Police Department arrived in the early afternoon and encountered Colton Dozier at the scene. Following a conversation with Dozier, he was taken into custody.
