On the night of July 3, 2024, Madison Police Department officers responded to a shooting call on Miller Boulevard near Old Madison Pike around 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Brian Wiggins Jr. of Decatur, Alabama, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers administered immediate lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived and transported Wiggins to Huntsville Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
