On December 26, 2016, 18-year-old Jason Ender West was fatally shot at a Sonic Drive-In on County Line Road in Madison, Alabama. The incident occurred during a planned drug transaction where West intended to purchase Xanax. Upon approaching the suspects' vehicle, he was shot in the chest. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
