On April 5, 2022, at approximately 3:15 p.m., deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence on Ervin Lane in Triana, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 47-year-old Jaycen Tori Ervin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Ervin was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman present at the residence also sustained gunshot injuries but managed to flee to a nearby location on Record Street,
