On September 3, 2017, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Madison County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting incident at 156 Dexter Circle in Madison, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 21-year-old Christopher Hamlett deceased from gunshot wounds. Investigations revealed that 44-year-old Sammie Lee Driskell had shot Hamlett, leading to his death. Driskell was subsequently charged with murder and booked into the Madison County Detention Facility with a bond set at $50,000.
