In the small town of Orrville, Alabama, a night out turned deadly for 19-year-old Jeremy “Chop” Deuntae Bryant. On July 7, 2024, a shootout erupted at the Shop Boyz Lounge, leaving Bryant with a fatal gunshot wound. Another individual was also injured in the exchange of gunfire but survived. Emergency services were alerted to the two men who had been transported to a local hospital, but Bryant ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting led to the
arrests of six suspects who have all been charged with felony murder. The individuals taken into custody are Tremark Atkins, Roger Murray, Aaron Tower, Mikle Butler, Marquis Owens, and Ja'Travius Simmons. Following their arrests, all six men were held without bond as the investigation into the incident continues. Authorities have encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward to assist the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
