Murdered

On March 6, 2016, Ivy Tonett Smith, age 39, was fatally shot in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue SE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 1:16 pm when Smith, an innocent bystander, was struck by gunfire while waiting at a bus stop. She was transported to Washington Hospital Center, where she was later pronounced dead. During the same incident, another individual suffered gunshot wounds at a nearby beauty supply store.
