On February 15, 2014, Senior Airman Katrina M. Jackson, a 22-year-old patrolman with the 673rd Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Alaska, was found deceased from injuries sustained from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A native of Universal City, Texas, Jackson had joined the U.S. Air Force in 2010 and had been stationed at JBER since 2011.
