In early September 1982, Irene Coulthurst, 28, her husband Mark, and their two young children, Kimberly and John, arrived in Craig, Alaska, aboard their fishing vessel, the Investor. The family, originally from Blaine, Washington, was in town to offload a substantial salmon catch and celebrate Mark's 28th birthday.
