On March 8, 2015, in Eagle River, Alaska, 56-year-old June Mary McCarr was fatally shot while inside a vehicle at the top of Mile High Road near Brownie and Barclay Drive. The incident also resulted in injuries to two other occupants of the vehicle. Anchorage police promptly arrested and charged 32-year-old James Andrew Baker in connection with the shooting.
