White/Caucasian, female, age 17, Mercedes Mott died on July 26, 2022, in Fairbanks, Alaska, after a 15-year-old brother shot her and two younger siblings inside the family's home while their parents were away. Alaska State Troopers said they received a report of shots fired at about 4:17 p.m. in the Skyridge Drive subdivision; when they arrived, they found four children dead from apparent gunshot wounds, including the 15-year-old shooter who died from a self-inflicted wound.
