On June 14, 2023, 52-year-old Nelson Rodriquez Reece, a White/Caucasian male from Wasilla, was shot during an argument that spilled into a neighbor's driveway off Fairview Loop Road. Alaska State Troopers and local EMS rushed to the scene just before 7 p.m., but despite life-saving efforts, the 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the location.
