Gerald Andre Lomax Jr., a 17-year-old student-athlete from Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically killed on November 13, 2024, following a shooting near Woodlawn High School. The incident occurred on the evening of November 12, after Lomax and a friend left a basketball game. A verbal altercation reportedly escalated, and an unknown assailant fired multiple shots into the vehicle in which Lomax was a passenger.
