On the night of July 10, 2024, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 65 North near the 32nd Avenue exit. Upon arrival, they discovered 55-year-old Jonathan Lenair Bradberry of Gardendale, Alabama, in the driver's seat, suffering from a gunshot wound. Bradberry was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
