On August 13, 2023, 22-year-old Robert Alexander "Rico" Brown of Bessemer, Alabama, was found deceased in his vehicle at Dolomite Westfield Park on Tin Mill Road in Birmingham. Family members, concerned after not hearing from him since the previous day around noon, initiated a search and discovered his car in the park's parking lot. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found Brown unresponsive with a gunshot wound and promptly contacted authorities.
