On April 30, 2023, 24-year-old Cornell Dewayne Richardson was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 10:40 p.m., West Precinct officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 3100 block of Steiner Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male lying near a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
