On June 11, 2023, 34-year-old Dwyer Koharrell Fields was fatally shot in front of a residence on the 100 block of Fair Street in Hueytown, Alabama. The incident occurred following a dispute with a woman, leading to Fields' death at the scene. This marked Hueytown's first homicide of 2023.
