A grim discovery on May 15, 2023, would eventually provide a tragic answer. On that day, at approximately 4:45 pm, investigators were called to the 2600 block of Noble Street in Anniston, where a human skull had been found. A subsequent search of the area did not uncover any other remains. The skull was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for analysis. Through DNA testing, the remains were positively identified as those of Miya Marshall.
