On July 23, 2012, 41-year-old Cormella Teague Boyd was fatally shot multiple times at her residence on Chatwood Drive in the Saks community of Anniston, Alabama. The primary suspect in her death was her husband, Fredrick Boyd, a former Anniston police officer who had resigned from the department in August 2011 after a 17-year tenure.
