On July 27, 2022, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of 34th Street Ensley. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had collided with a parked car. Inside the vehicle, 21-year-old Maleyk Kyre Bryant was found unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
