On April 9, 2021, officers responded to 1600 Montclair Road following reports of a car accident, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Upon arrival, police discovered a Birmingham Water Works vehicle lodged in shrubbery along the road's median, with two men inside.
The driver, Tyrone King, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, while his passenger remained unharmed. Both individuals were employees of Water Works.
