On the evening of July 25, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Birmingham Police officers responded to reports of a traffic accident in the 1600 block of 35th Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered a red SUV that had collided with a parked vehicle. While investigating the scene, officers were alerted by a community member to an unresponsive individual lying on a nearby sidewalk in the 3500 block of Norwood Boulevard.
