On March 31, 2020, 25-year-old Corey Rahmon Cook Jr. was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 5:09 p.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds fired in the 1500 block of Avenue H. Upon arrival, they discovered Cook unresponsive in the 1100 block of 16th Street, lying in the roadway next to a vehicle.
