On January 4, 2022, at approximately 3:10 p.m., 24-year-old Birmingham resident Leeco Whittington was fatally shot outside the South Park Convenience store located at 36 South Park Road in the city's west side. Another male victim was also injured in the incident but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
