On August 4, 2022, 45-year-old Charlotte Leigh Wallin from Imperial, Nebraska, was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with her family for the University of Alabama's freshman move-in. While walking along the sidewalk on the south side of Jack Warner Parkway between Hackberry Lane and Marrs Spring Road, she was struck by a vehicle driven by 31-year-old DaQuisha Meshunda Frank.
