On October 29, 2022, 30-year-old Kernisha Jenay McClinon was fatally shot at a hotel on Kelco Place in Fairfield, Alabama. Witnesses reported that McClinon was involved in an argument with a man and attempted to distance herself when he drew a firearm and shot her. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Cortney Dion Price, fled the scene on foot.
