Terrell Malik Young, a 24-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama, died on December 4, 2021, and the day left a sudden hole in the city’s Norwood community.

That morning, police were called to a house on the 3500 block of 17th Avenue North, where Young had been shot inside the residence. When officers arrived, the scene had already hardened into the grim stillness that follows gunfire; Birmingham Fire and Rescue ultimately pronounced him dead.
