On April 9, 2021, at approximately 12:56 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a vehicle accident at 1600 Montclair Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a Birmingham Water Works company vehicle lodged in shrubbery in the median. Inside the vehicle, officers found 29-year-old Tyrone King, the driver, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
