Brandy Lee Moore Ballard, a 52-year-old Caucasian female, was driving her 2007 Ford Focus on March 21, 2021, at approximately 6:05 a.m. along the 800 block of Arkadelphia Road. Her journey was horrifically interrupted when a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, traveling northbound, crossed the center line and slammed head-on into her vehicle. Ballard, who was on her way to care for the elderly, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the Camaro had been engaged in an illegal street race at the time of the fatal crash. The driver of the Camaro, later identified as 22-year-old Carmesia Flannigan, fled the scene after the collision.
