On August 3, 2019, 28-year-old Jameria Howard was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama, in an incident identified as a murder-suicide. Around 11:00 p.m., officers from the South Precinct responded to a report of a person shot at 819 30th Street South. Upon arrival, they found Howard lying unresponsive in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
