On June 6, 2020, at approximately 4:11 p.m., 62-year-old Brenda Lee Jordan was fatally shot while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 6800 block of 1st Avenue North, near a Sunoco gas station. Preliminary investigations by the Birmingham Police Department indicated that occupants of a nearby vehicle fired shots intended for another target, but the gunfire struck Jordan instead.
