On June 14, 2021, 18-year-old Barbara Ann Harmon of Talladega, Alabama, was found unresponsive near a vehicle off the roadway in the 1400 block of Alpine Winterboro Road. Responding to reports of a crash around 12:20 a.m., deputies and members of the Winterboro Volunteer Fire Department discovered Harmon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
