On January 14, 2021, at approximately 8:48 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a call reporting two individuals shot at 5315 Pinson Valley Parkway. The victims, including 31-year-old Dequaris Lydel Williams, had driven themselves to a nearby Shell gas station at 4141 Pinson Valley Parkway to seek assistance. Both were transported to UAB Hospital, where Williams succumbed to his injuries.
