On August 6, 2021, 49-year-old Nathan Larry Parsons of Gardendale, Alabama, was fatally shot during a law enforcement operation near the Good Hope community in Cullman County. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the Good Hope Campground. Officers and special agents from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force (ADETF) were involved in the operation.
