On March 2, 2020, 36-year-old Shontez Deon Rhodes was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 100 block of 9th Avenue West. Birmingham Police officers responded to reports of a person shot and discovered Rhodes lying unresponsive in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
