On the evening of November 22, 2020, 65-year-old African American male David Earl Whetstone was found deceased from a gunshot wound in the 700 block of Center Hill Road in Sylacauga, Alabama. Responding officers from the Talladega County Sheriff's Office and the Childersburg Police Department arrived at approximately 9:00 p.m. Mr. Whetstone was pronounced dead at the scene by the Talladega County Coroner.
