On June 4, 2019, 23-year-old Devin Skylar Sandlin was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. At approximately 8:10 p.m., officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 1700 block of Long 14th Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered Sandlin lying in the front yard of a residence, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
