Woman found murdered in a field near Erie
On July 17, 1991, the body of 38-year-old Valerie Gail Meeks was discovered near a landfill by Weld County Roads 4 and 5, outside Erie, Colorado. She had been reported missing on July 3, 1991, after last being seen in Denver on June 30. Valerie, a known sex worker along Denver's Colfax Avenue, was found with a plastic bag over her head, and investigators determined that she had been suffocated.
