Man's murder still unsolved years after his body was identified
On May 16, 1998, the body of 30-year-old Ruben Ortiz-Gutierrez was found in an irrigation ditch northeast of Del Camino, in Weld County, Colorado. Initially, his identity remained unknown until advancements in fingerprint technology in 2005 led to his identification. Ortiz-Gutierrez was from Denver, and although authorities investigated suspects with ties to drug trafficking, no arrests were made due to a lack of sufficient evidence.
