Colorado man found shot to death in an irrigation ditch
On May 16, 2012, the body of a Caucasian male, Joseph Peters, was discovered by employees of the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company in an irrigation ditch in Weld County, Colorado. The location of the discovery was near Interstate 76 and Weld County Road 12.5. An investigation revealed that Peters had been fatally shot before his body was wrapped in a tarp and left in the ditch.
At the time of his death, Joseph Peters was 41 years old. He was last known to have been in the Denver and Brighton areas. It was reported that Peters was in the process of attempting to establish a medicinal marijuana business. His death is being investigated as a homicide by the Weld County Sheriff's Office.
Despite the passage of time, the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Joseph Peters. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the case.
