A man is found in the roadway bleeding to death
On January 3, 2006, Shawn Gary John, a 34-year-old resident of Virginia Beach, was found fatally shot near the intersection of Old Virginia Beach Road and Barberton Drive. A 9-1-1 call reported gunfire in the area around 8:30 a.m., and police responded to discover Shawn lying in the roadway, bleeding from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy confirmed the cause of death as homicide due to the gunshot injury.
