A man is found in the roadway bleeding to death
On a Tuesday morning, January 3, 2006, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet near the intersection of Old Virginia Beach Road and Barberton Drive in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At approximately 8:30 a.m., police responded to reports and discovered the body of a Black male lying in the roadway. The man, later identified as 34-year-old Shawn Gary John, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
