On a cold winter day in Richmond, Virginia, what should have been a festive time of year turned into a tragedy for Peter O Alisigwe. The 58-year-old Black/African American man became the victim of a brutal home invasion. Inside his own residence, a place that should have been a sanctuary, he was confronted by two unknown men. The assailants beat and robbed him, leaving him with severe injuries. Eight days after the attack, on December 25, 2010, he succumbed to the trauma he had endured.

The violent circumstances of his death prompted an investigation into the homicide. Authorities were faced with the task of identifying the two men responsible for the robbery and the subsequent death of Alisigwe. The case was classified as a homicide due to the direct link between the injuries sustained during the commission of a felony and his passing.

Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the identities of the two men who broke into Peter O Alisigwe's home and inflicted the fatal injuries have remained elusive. The case has since gone cold, with no publicly available information detailing any arrests or the naming of any suspects in connection with the crime. The perpetrators of this violent act have not been brought to justice, leaving the resolution of the case unknown.
