In the early moments of Wednesday, January 30, 2008, a dispute on a Nashville street corner abruptly ended the life of John Jermaine Shannon. An African-American male, Shannon was 32 years old at the time of his death. The altercation occurred near 621 Dew Street, where he was involved in a confrontation with another man. Shortly after midnight, the argument escalated, and Shannon was fatally shot.
