In the winter of 2017, the life of 45-year-old Marlon Toney, a Black male from Memphis, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. On the evening of January 30th, what began as an ordinary moment with another individual, Eric Moody, descended into a violent encounter that would end in Toney's death. The two men were confronted by armed individuals who ordered them out of Moody's truck in a brazen act of aggression.
