Thomas Nevills, aged 53, died on September 2, 2017, in Nashville, Tennessee, after being assaulted in the Madison area. On the night of the incident, Nevills was struck on the head with an unknown object, which left him critically injured. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
