In the late summer of 2017, the life of Eric M. Reed, a 28-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. On September 12, 2017, Reed was shot and killed, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he had made Memphis his home, attending Graves Elementary and Horn Lake High School.
Known for his bright personality and a smile that could warm a room, Eric was described by his family as having a 'heart of gold.'
