Demario Hughley, a 30-year-old Memphis resident, was shot and killed on October 3, 2017, while working at a group home in the Frayser neighborhood. Hughley had stepped outside to smoke a cigarette when he was ambushed and fatally shot. His wife, Rosetta Hughley, a Memphis Police officer, later learned she was pregnant, adding to the heartbreak for the family.
