On April 15, 2008, Gary Jr. James, a 28-year-old man, was murdered in Philadelphia. He was found on the 4700 block of States Drive with fatal injuries, and despite efforts by law enforcement, the case remains unsolved with no suspects identified or arrests made. Gary's death was one of several homicides that took place in the city during that year, which was marked by an uptick in violent crimes, particularly those involving firearms.
